The Jean Charles de Menezes Family Campaign needs ongoing public support in order to campaign, anything that you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. The campaign is run entirely by volunteers and is able to function solely by donations from members of the public.

There are many ways that you can support the Menezes family campaign, some ideas are listed below. If you have any campaign ideas please email us: we welcome all contributions.

Write to your MP
MP’s have the power to end the ‘shoot to kill’ policy that led to Jean’s death and to hold a full judicial public inquiry so that the extent of the cover up and actions of the police after Jean was killed can be bought out into the public.

You can send an email to your MP instantly here through www.writetothem.com.

We have a model letter to an MP but if you can personalise the letter if helps.

Please do this simple act: MP’s do take notice!

Make a donation
The Jean Charles de Menezes Campaign is funded almost entirely by goodwill donations from the public. All contributions are much appreciated and are put towards covering the ongoing expenses of campaign activities which play a vital role in supporting the family's legal struggle for justice.

If you would like to make a financial donation to the campaign, please make your cheque payable to 'Jean Charles de Menezes Campaign' and send to the address below:

Shrine at Stockwell Station
Following the tragic and brutal death of Jean Charles at the hands of police on London Underground, local residents to Stockwell and members of the family campaign have created a shrine outside Stockwell tube station.

The shrine, which measures about 2 metres squared, was set up shortly after Jean Charles' death. Since then the shrine has received hundreds of cards and messages of sympathy and support for the family from people worldwide shocked and sickened by both Jean's sudden unnecessary death and the response and handling of the matter afterwards by the police and government.
The shrine is maintained and cared for by a small group of volunteers who meet regularly. The family of Jean Charles also regularly visit the shrine and are both touched and strengthened by the continuing support they receive in their campaign for justice.

These words are from one of the people who maintains the shrine:

"Personally, when I heard of Jean's death, I immediately contacted my son to make sure that it was not him. Although I believed at the time the version that the police had killed a suspected bomber, I also had a strong sense that this could have been a wild card response to the failed bombings of the day before. However, as soon as news came out that it was indeed a mistaken identity and that there had been a cover up of some sorts, I got involved. We are committed to keeping the space alive until such time as a permanent memorial has been erected in his honour, albeit if justice is never achieved.

For the friends and families of the people who died on the 7th and 22nd July, there is no getting away from their loss and the least we can do is to ensure that Jean Charles is given the honour too of commemoration that the other victims have been given. We want his family to know this. Even if or when they return to Brazil, they should know that we here in London will remember and will honour this. Perhaps this will make it easier for them to let go, and return home, should they need or want to."

If you would like to send a message to the shrine, the address is:
